Diogo Guanabara & Macaxeira Jazz!!!
The partnership between mandolinist Diogo Guanabara and Macaxeira Jazz band shows that jazz blends very well with baião (Brazilian folk music). Natal city native musicians have been performing together for four years and they already had made two international music tours, released two CDs and one DVD.
The quartet, composed of Diogo Guanabara (mandonlim), Henrique Pachêco (bass), Raphael Bender (drums) and Ticiano D’amore (guitar) fuses foreign classic rhythms, such as jazz and blues, with Brazilian rhythms like samba, frevo, baião and chorinho, and has several authorial songs. They also have remarkable creativity and boldness to make reinterpretations of songs of the most famous classical composers and musicians. They have been performing reinterpretations of The Beatles, Michael Jackson and Astor Piazzola with Brazilian rhythms, pleasing the audience in Brazil and abroad. Diogo Guanabara & Macaxeira Jazz new album "Capanga Moderna" is now available on iTunes! http://www.tupirecords.com/albums/view/capanga-moderna/lang:en ![]()
